Añadir al carritoVintage reference photograph of actress Arlette Marchal from the 1926 film. Based on the 1927 novel by Zane Grey (not published until a year after the film's release). A fugitive is left in the desert to die by his outlaw partner, but is rescued by a young rancher, unaware that romantic entanglements with a neighboring rancher's daughter will complicate their friendship. Now considered to be a lost film. Shot on location in Hurricane Bluffs, Utah. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good, with light toning and edgewear, and a small chip to the right edge.

Añadir al carritoCondición: Very good. First edition. Quarto. [2],7 leaves, printed on rectos only. Mechanically reproduced typescript with pictorial cover sheet. Staple absent from extreme upper left corner, with rust staining left behind, otherwise very good. A studio PR firm's promotional release for John Waters's first film to earn an "R" rating, rather than an "X." As usual, Waters was both writer and director, and cast Divine (Francine Fishpaw) and Tab Hunter (Todd Tomorrow) in the lead roles. The promo includes a two page (plus four lines) synopsis; a four page biographical treatment of Waters with a discussion of his films; and a cast list with production information. "Polyester introduces ODORAMA, a ludicrous gimmick which will allow the audience to share in 10 of the more penetrating odors that plague poor Francine" --page 2. Extremely uncommon.

Globe Photos stamp on the verso, along with manuscript annotations in pencil and ink. Perhaps John Waters' most enduring film, serving as the basis for the long running 2002 Broadway musical adaptation, which itself became the basis for both the 2007 film starring John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Queen Latifah, and the 2016 broadcast "Hairspray Live!" on NBC. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with light wear on the bottom right corner. Rosenbaum 1000.
