Hardcover. Condición: New. Harold, & the rare Summary of Harold accompaniment. New; pristine. See scans and description. 'Harold' (Steven Wright) and 'Summary of Harold' (John L. Lemon). For 'Harold', New York: Simoe and Schuster, 2023. Octavo, illustrated jacket, dark teal blue-green and black boards, 243 numbered pp. CR page a…ppears to indicate second printing, but the jury is out on that as of this listing date; have seen none that have a "1" in the number line. For 'Summary of Harold', North Haven, CT: John L. Lemon, copyrighted 2023, printed 2024. Octavo, perfect-bound wraps, deep pink and black wraps with black and white imprinting, 50 pp. No printing number indicated. ISBN number for the rare summary is 9798396131255. Both are brand squeaky new. See scans. Wright's novel itself is the unique attraction, but is not rare (yet); Lemon's summary assessment of that novel is apparently extraordinarily rare, as of this listing. The novel is a train of thought tour de force, the mental experience about a 3rd-grade boy in 1960s Boston - his exterior and interior life, in the latter of which his mental experiences arrive like birds through a rectangular frame. This, with all the uniqueness of Wright's famed stand-up comedy style, but with content much deeper than his humor. Ya gotta read it to get it - and maybe not even then. With the accompanying 50 page - well, explanation, by Lemon - a very worthy collectible. Get a separate copy of the novel for reading. See scans. Ships in stout protection, of course. L52.
