This book is a facsimile reprint of the first edition originally published in 1932 by Charles Scribner's Sons, and is printed on fine paper. Book is illustrated with many b&w photographs of old mansions, as well as schematic drawings of them. Original introduction by Fiske Kimball. This reprint volume is "Volume 24" of the "Da Capo Press Series in Architecture and Decorative Art", edited by Adolf K. Placzek.
