Jens Christian Rosing (1925-2008) was a Greenlandic artist notable for designing the coat of arms of Greenland, many Greenlandic postage stamps, and several illustrated children's books and water colors. In his stamps designs, Rosing focused on motifs from the country's history, fauna and legends. Rosing was known for his ability to combine and amazing accuracy in ethnographic, archaeological, and biological details with a simple powerful dash. In particular, he was unmatched in his sketches of animals and birds, which often have the character of entirely biological studies, but at the same time displaying unique artistic qualities.…
