This propaganda photobook, published just before the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and World War II, is an interesting example of an avant-garde artist's turn towards national themes, and Jenicek also made short films for the military. Dedicated to the Czechoslovak army, it was published in May 1938 - in the last months of the existence of the First Republic, when the threat to national security was clearly felt. Trotz forgeschrittener Zeiten und einem nicht unbedingt progressiven Thema blieb Jenicek bei seinen Fotos den Bildelementen der Moderne, im Hinblick auf Perspektive und der häufig eingesetzten Diagonale, treu.
