A detailed description of the German soldier's field tunic throughout the Second World War, in all its aspects: history, symbolism, manufacturing, evolution, insignia, etc., from the pre-war dress uniform to the shabby utilitarian garment of 1945. The Feldbluse (field blouse) was the primary service and combat tunic for the German Army (Heer) and Waffen-SS from 1933-1945, evolving from high-quality wool with dark green collars (M36) to simplified, functional designs (M43/M44) due to wartime shortages. Key features included four pleated pockets, five-button front, and grey-green wool, with designs becoming shorter and less detailed by 1944.
