Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book engages with an historical tale through the lens of its language and vocabulary. Set in the period after the collapse of the Roman Empire, the author uses this particular text as a basis for investigating the interchange between written and spoken language during the Middle Ages. Within this, the author explores a wide range of themes, including politics, literacy, art, power, and the relationship between Church and State. Through close reading, he builds an argument about the nature of language itself and how it is shaped by society and the people who use it. The book is a significant contribution to our understanding of the period and is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of language. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

Couverture souple. Condición: Comme neuf. Edition originale. Paris, 2002. 1 Volume/1. -- Comme Neuf -- Broché cousu. Format in-8°( 30 x 22 cm ). » Arnauld Divry "" ****************************.…
