Good condition with old folds, toning, tear where wax seal was affixed. Measures approx. 7 1/2 x 9". Written to a correspondent concerning corrections and additions to a forthcoming peerage reference work, Burton noting information relating to the family of Lord Dunsany, correcting the use of the post-nominal letters "K.C.H.," and identifying an error in a date printed as 1784. Signed at conclusion, "Ryder Burton." James Ryder Burton served in the Royal Navy and ultimately attained the rank of Admiral. The letter relates to genealogical and aristocratic family history associated with the Plunkett family, Barons Dunsany, into which Burton married. Signed by Author(s).
