Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book includes the observations gathered during lengthy and thorough boiler tests. These observations were made by Bryan Donkin, Jr and Professor Kennedy, and the primary objective was to ascertain which type of boiler was most efficient. The tests were comprehensive and detailed, employing the same type of coal and recording all observations in the same manner. A direct comparison of the different types was thereby enabled, beyond what is usually possible using disparate published tests. The tests encompassed an array of boilers such as Cornish, Lancashire, and water tube, and various types of fuel consumption were recorded, along with flue gas analysis and measurements of heat loss by way of escaping gases and radiation. The book presents the collected data in clear tables and contains a final summary of the findings. It is a valuable resource for those interested in the nuances of boiler performance and the comparative efficiency of different boiler types.
