Añadir al carritoCondición: Good. A large calendar with color illustrations and content in Navajo and English. Calendar measures 37 x 25 inches and has a plastic binding comb along the top edge. The binding is broken in multiple locations and the first page of the calendar is detached from the binding. There are a handful of tears along the bottom edge of the calendar, no larger than half an inch, and one 2 inch tear has been repaired with archival tape by the previous owner. Calendar was rolled up for storage and does not lay flat. Overall good condition. This large format calendar was published to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the June 1st, 1868 Treaty that enabled the Navajo (Diné) to return to their ancestral homelands. This calendar contains illustrations, photographs and historical information. From 1863 to 1868 the Navajo and the Mescalero Apache (Ndé) were forcibly removed from their homelands to Bosque Redondo Reservation in New Mexico. On June 1st, 1868 Navajo leader Chief Barboncito negotiated a treaty with General William T. Sherman and Colonel Samuel F. Tappen at Fort Sumner. It allowed for the return of the Navajo to a portion of their homelands of the four corners region. 11 copies in OCLC as of October 2024. ; 37 x 25 inches; 14 pp.
