This sepia stipple engraving from the paining was engraved a year before Reynold's death, this example is tinted only, as issued, some copies have colouring. printed on hand-made wove cartidge paper, good strong plate lines, the borders are waterstained and very grubby, if presented under glass and all the border was hidden the image would be fine, the paper is sound but soft, bottom corner missing. The print would clean. Measures 11.25 x 8.2 inches to plate line and 14.5 x 11.5 inches in total. (25 x 29 cm) Sold as genuine 1st impression of 1791, but with issues to borders and image dusty.
