The book is now a bit skewed but overall remains solid. Previous owner signature and address - from Cork, Ireland. This is interesting as the author was born in Cork and lived there most of his life. The dust jacket is very bright and pleasing, signed Doco. This copy is warmly inscribed - To miss . Hill,with the best wishes of the author, Crosshaven, Co. Cork, 3rd August, 1925. This page might be tipped in - perhaps removed then re-inserted? It does match perfectly. Some page corners turned in and one corner - page 277/78 has a corner missing. The dust jacket's rear panel also lists "Hutchinson's New Novels / Spring 1925." A very nice copy of a very scarce novel. MacCarthy had earned a very solid reputation as a playwright, having significant success at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. Very Good / Near Fine. …
