This 6.25 x 9.25 inch, 169 page hardcover book is the apparent first printing of this title with only a 1927 copyright shown on the copyright page and with the Hercules Powder Company as publisher on the title page and a price of $3.00 showing. This copy is in near fine condition with a bit of time-wear showing to the textured maroon-cloth covers with gilt lettering and design on front panel and spine. The spine foot and crown show some discoloration from use but the binding shows no breaks or tears and all in all the book inside and out is in at least near fine condition. The front paste-down shows two previous owner?s inked names - - with the first accompanied by a date of 7-28-28. The book features fascinating charts, graphs, black-and-white photos, and information on the techniques and capacities of explosives and their use, demonstrating the different techniques and products available to industry at that time. One chapter has the interesting title -*Hercoblasting*- with details given with apparent technique developed by the Hercules Company. The book promotes the power and capacity of explosives use and comes out of the era of expanding industrial technology with the interesting statement on the copyright page -*This book is bound with Pyroxylin Coated Fabric containing Hercules Nitrocellulose.*- 169 pages.
