A near fine copy with minor bumping to the spine ends, some slight dustiness and a previous owner's inscription to the ffep with the polite request, "Please return". The price-clipped dust jacket is faded to the spine, chipped at the spine ends and has a few closed tears including on that is approximately 3 inches long to the rear flap. Overall, this is a desirable copy of the remarkable story of a man who survived 47 days on a raft in the open sea, two and a half years in a Japanese prison camp and an Olympic runner. Zmaperini's story if also told in the upcoming film Unbroken, written by the Coen brothers and directed by Angelina Jolie.
