Als sie jedoch zu lang für einen Lehrgang wurde, habe ich mich entschieden, sie als Separatdruck herauszugeben.Leider war diese Schrift in Vergessenheit geraten, bis ich zufällig im März dieses Jahres darauf gestossen bin. Der Verleger, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, war zufällig zu dieser Zeit bei mir. Das Manuskript weckte bei ihm sofort das Interesse für dessen Publikation. Das ist der Grund des verspäteten Erscheinens dieser Schrift.Es gibt eigentlich keine verbindliche Verschriftung des Ägyptisch-Arabischen, obwohl Texte in der Umgangssprache schon seit langem vorhanden sind. In dem Lehrgang habe ich mich für eine fixe Form entschieden und diese dann konsequent durchgezogen. Dies gilt für die Schrift als auch für die Umschrift.Die Umgangssprache hat ein anderes Lautsystem, in dem sich viele Laute finden, die das Hocharabische nicht kennt, z.B. die Konsonanten p (wie Peter), trockenes g (wie Gabi), v (wie Viktor), g (wie das zweite g in Garage), Vokale sowie Diphtonge usw. Das Hocharabische verfügt aber auch über Laute, die im Dialekt umgewandelt wurden, wie z.B. die Interdentale und der Uvulare. Darum war es erforderlich, mich intensiver mit der Verschriftung und Lautlehre zu befassen.Mit grosser Freude erfülle ich schliesslich die Pflicht, meiner seligen Frau zu danken, die keine Mühe und Anstrengung scheute, mich zu unterstützen, mir bei jedem Schritt und Tritt beistand, und mir wertvolle Ratschläge zur methodisch-didaktischen Ausgestaltung gab. Auch beim Lektor des Verlages, Herr Norayk Menevis, bedanke ich mich sehr für das Durchlesen des Manuskriptes und seine wertvollen Korrektur-Hinweise.Zu dieser Schrift wird demnächst eine Audio-CD erscheinen, die es den Lernenden ermöglicht, die genaue Aussprache zu hören und zu üben.
