Das Buch von Vera Isler ist der ehrliche Bericht einer Emanzipation und damit eine Ermutigung für Frauen in vergleichbaren Situationen. Ihr Ausbruch aus der Schweizer Enge, aus Konvention und tradiertem Rollenspiel ließ eine international beachtete Fotografin wachsen, die sich selbstbewusst behauptet: als Frau, als Künstlerin, als Jüdin.
