This postcard features Yitzhaq II ben Amram ben Shalma ben Tabia (often referred to in English as Isaac, son of Amram), who served as the 121st Samaritan High Priest from 1916 until his death in 1932. The photograph shows the High Priest in traditional religious attire, characterized by his turban and long robe. He is posed next to what is identified as the Abisha Scroll, a highly sacred manuscript of the Samaritan Pentateuch. According to Samaritan tradition, the Abisha Scroll was written by Abishua, the great-grandson of Aaron, making it one of the most revered religious artifacts in their community. Signed to the reverse. Firstly, there is Samaritan Hebrew Script: These top two lines are written in the ancient Samaritan script, a variant of Paleo-Hebrew. This is a personal signature or inscription by the High Priest himself. There is an English annotation below the script, where another hand has added: "Isaac son of Amram High Priest of the Samaritans." Postcards like this were often produced in the early 20th century, particularly during the British Mandate period, as souvenirs for travellers and scholars visiting Nablus and Mount Gerizim. Condition: The postcard has light edgewear but is otherwise in good condition. Signed by Author(s).

Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book by an anonymous High Priest of the Samaritan community presents a historic and theological argument for Gerizim as the one true sanctuary, challenging the claim of Jerusalem put forward by the Jews. The author maintains that Gerizin, not Jerusalem, was chosen by God from antiquity to be the site of worship and dwelling of the Shekinah - the physical manifestation of God's presence. He cites scriptural evidence from the Torah to support his argument, as well as accounts of the lives of the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who all worshipped upon Mount Gerizim. The author also critiques the Jewish alteration of the Torah in order to support their claim to Jerusalem, carefully explaining the original text and its meaning. Gerizim's exalted status, the author argues, is evident in the continuity of its sanctity, the divine requirement of sacrifices being brought there, and the numerous prophetic blessings associated with it. The book offers a unique perspective on the history and significance of Gerizim, challenging long-held assumptions and providing a wealth of scriptural and historical evidence to support the author's claim. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Añadir al carritoTaschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Sefer She'elot u-teshuvot Bet she'arim is a collection of responsa (she'elot u-teshuvot) by Rabbi Amram ben Isaac Jacob Blum (1834-1907). This first volume presents Rabbi Blum's responses to various questions posed to him on matters of Jewish law (Halakha). As a significant work of Rabbinic literature, it offers insight into Jewish legal thought and practice at the turn of the 20th century. The book serves as a valuable resource for scholars and anyone interested in the intricacies of Halakha and its application to daily life. The text provides a window into the complexities of Jewish legal reasoning and the challenges faced by religious authorities in addressing contemporary issues within the framework of traditional law.
