Añadir al carritoSoftcover. Condición: Good+. (NAP). Sewn binding. A solid copy with firm sewn binding, opening a little wider between first and second signatures. No marks. I've rated this copy "Good only," however, because there is some foxing to page edges and more on back cover. There are reading creases on both covers, rubbing, edgewear, and a crease to top back corner.

Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Near Fine. First Edition First Printing. Lesser-known publication from the self-taught & award-winning Israeli photographer Peter Merom (1919-2022), who established Kibbutz Hulata. Commemorative or tourist booklet published in the immediate aftermath of the Arab-Israeli Six Day War in June 1967, documenting both the eternal beauty of the Sinai region--particularly Sharm El-Sheikh on the tip of the Sinai Peninsula--which was just being developed as a tourist destination--& the devastation & environmental degradation wrought both by war & by development. No date, but there is a notation in pen inside the rear board, "Tel Aviv 25 May '71" & Wiki suggests 1969; text & images support this date. Quarto (9" x 12"), with a sturdy cardboard wrapper decorated in black-and-white photographic images, with a front flap that folds over the exterior to close the front & rear boards together. Pocket flaps top & bottom inside the front cover holds 15 black-and-white (apparently was issued with 16, so 1 is missing) each depicting a scene or people, including Bedouin children, a cemetery, desert, aerial views, etc. A few photos have mild tape residue to rear; front images are pristine. These pocket flaps show light soiling, as does the inside rear board, which has written in pen to its bottom edge. Also enclosed are 1) a 4-page brochure, "The Wide Open Spaces" containing an Introduction by Azaria Alon on pg. 1, followed by 3 pages of text in Hebrew. Añadir al carritoFull Cloth. Condición: Good. No Jacket. Frank Brangwyn Ilustrador. Full organge cloth with blind stamped decorated black illustratration on front board and black lettering on spine. The cloth is in good condition but is soiled giving it a somewhat mottled appearance. Top edge gilt others untrimmed. Illustrated endpages. Illustrated with twelve mounted full-page color plates and numerous small black-and-white drawings by Frank Brangwyn. Kinglake's journey through Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine was undertaken in 1835 and first published in 1844, making him famous. Minor bump to upper corner of front board. Overall GOOD MINUS condition. Alexander William Kinglake (August 5, 1809 - January 2, 1891) was an English travel writer and historian. He was born near Taunton, Somerset and educated at Eton College and Cambridge. He was called to the Bar in 1837, and built up a thriving legal practice, which in 1856 he abandoned in order to devote himself to literature and public life. His first literary venture had been Eothen, a very popular work of Eastern travel, published in 1844; but his magnum opus was his Invasion of the Crimea, in 8 volumes, published from 1863 to 1887, one of the most effective works of its class. It has been accused of being too favourable to Lord Raglan, and unduly hostile to Napoleon III, for whom the author had an extreme aversion. UncleAndy Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Hardcover.
