The top edge is gilt.The edition The Antiquary has a loose title page. The Pirate is missing the title page. St.Ronan's Well has a few speckles/spots/discolorations front at the edge. Rob Roy has a discolored gutter as does Guy Manering which has not affected the inside printed pages. The volume, Quentin Durward , has the previous owner's gift inscription the covers 3/4 of the page and a discolored gutter. A few books have bumped spines. The publication dates are 1893 and 1894.
