Endpapers with scattered foxing; faint foxing to early and late leaves. Writing on some pages; old penciled price to the front endpaper. No dust jacket as issued for the Left Book Club binding. Sound, readable copy of the original club issue. ---. The Left Book Club edition was the first appearance of this title; a separate public hardcover issue by Gollancz followed in 1937. An important interwar attempt to relate Freudian psychoanalysis to Marxist theory.
