A better than very goof copy, the binding square and firm with some bumping to the spine tips and a tiny tear to the lower front spine joint, and a small mark to the upper board. The topstain is darkened towards the fore-edge. The contents, with a bookplate to the front free endpaper and eight tiny spots to the fore-edge of the closed text block, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Inscribed by the author in black ink on the title page "For Jared! - / Hoping you like dark beer! / Cheers, / Tim Powers". The recipient is an editor and publisher of genre fiction.
