The books are in red cloth covers with gilt titles and ornate dec…oration to spine; books have rubs / repaired splits to spine tops. Internally the books are very good indeed and free of inscriptions; they are largely unread; they are illustrated with coloured frontispieces and b/w or photogravure plates each with titled tissue guards and in in this edition there are two copies of each plate [all present and all with their tissue guards]; in Vol XXIV the last plate is a photograph of Daudet with his son Leon, the first plate bears the signature 'Leon Daudet' in the margin but the second plate does not; bindings tight; free of foxing; fore and lower edges semi-trimmed.
