Previous owner signature on the front free endpaper. 242 pages, illustrated. The Willis-Inman Debate of 1966 was a significant theological exchange within the Churches of Christ regarding institutionalism and congregational autonomy. The discussion featured Cecil Willis of Marion, Indiana, and Clifton Inman of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and took place in two parts: first in Parkersburg (September) and later in Dayton, Ohio (October/November). He argued that when a church funds an orphan home, it is helping the children rather than the organization itself. The debate was considered highly professional and was eventually published in this book form in 1968. B48.…
