Interior pages clean and unmarked with bright color plates. The publisher slipcase, printed with photographic panels, shows edgewear, rubbing, surface scuffing, and corner wear consistent with age. A detailed photographic and descriptive survey of the domestic, ecclesiastical, and communal wooden architecture of northern Russia, including the regions of Transonega, the White Sea Coast, the rivers Svid and Onega, Vologda and the Lower Vychegda, the Northern Dvina and Pinega, and the Mezen River basin. Illustrated with full color panoramas and architectural photographs documenting surviving structures as well as sites no longer extant. Includes a concluding chapter on the architectural heritage of the Russian North.
