Eight tipped-in colour illustrations, taken from watercolours by Margaret H Waterfield. Cover illustration and other monochrome 'decorations' in text by A W Graham Brown. Pages have been cut so edges are very uneven, and some are tanned where they project out further. Edited by Alfred H Hyatt, the names of the 10 contributors to this book of essays would have been familiar to Edwardian readers. They include 'E. V. B.' (Eleanor Vere Boyle 1825-1916, a well-known writer and artist who published under her initials only), the poet Alice Meynell (1847-1922), and posthumous extracts from the writings of William Cowper, Sir Walter Scott and John Ruskin.
