The authors draw upon films of all eras and most film-making countries to show how motion pictures can be much more than just another way of telling a story. Dr. Silverstein is film editor of Salmagundi, a quarterly, and is an expert on James Joyce. Recently he spent a year in Poland at the request of the State Department, lecturing on film and American life and letters.
