By the third year of the magazine they changed the numbering to volume 1, #1. A fine magazine of arts, stage, dance and music that bridged the gap between gay and straight readers in the 1970s-80s.…

Contemporary or near contemporary vellum, edges speckled red, slightly foxed to prelims and end leaves, but overall a clean attractive example. Bookplate of Vansittart to front pastedown, label Winnard?s bequest to front endpaper, unobtrusive blind stamp to front and rear leaves. An extremely interesting volume, containing much on astronomy opening with two papers by William Herschel On the Ring of Saturn, and Miscellaneous Observations, and in Part Two, Observations on the Atmosphere of Venus and the Moon by Schroeter. The first part also includes papers on light (by Wedgwood), heat by Benjamin Thompson, Magnetism by Bennet, and ends with a substantial monograph on bees by John Hunter (pages 128-195).…
