Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. First Edition (SD). With 159 Illustrations. This is a very rare copy of the second volume. The book was published in two volumes. Actually, I don't believe there's even one other copy of this volume for sale on the Internet. So, it's nice that this book is in really good condition. You can see the covers in the photos. They're quite clean. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. The edges are in solid condition. The bottom ones have some spots of color fade but are entirely smooth. There is only a little bit of rubbing at the four corners, one has a tiny spot of rub-through. The top edge of the spine has a little bit of wear, one spot of rub-through, a couple of small tears. The bottom edge of the spine has a little color fade and bending, also a speck of rub-through. The top page edge is gilt. Looks very good. The middle and bottom page edges are deckled or rough-cut. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover. The covers R nicely tight. The pages are nicely tight as well. That's especially important, as the book is larger and heavier than average. The heaviness is in part due to the thickness of the glossy pages. These pages are in terrific shape. Not only are they very clean, they are fairly bright. There isn't any foxing. I haven't seen any soiling. I could certainly be missing something. There are a lot of pages, but very clearly they are very, very clean. They are also in very good shape. I'm not finding any turned-down corners or placeholder creases. I'm not finding any kind of conspicuous wear. There are no markings. No attachments, bookplates, etc. It is NOT ex-library. As referenced above, there are 159 illustrations. I assume that includes the frontispiece which is protected by a tissue guard. All of the illustrations appear to be in very nice condition. You would expect these glossy or semi-glossy pages to at least have some toning at their margins, maybe there's a little, but if so it certainly doesn't stand out. At the end of the seventh Appendix there are three Plates (A, B, and C) and each of them has a tissue guard with print describing in some detail each plate. Attached to the first rear end paper is a foldout map of Palestine. It is in excellent condition.
