With a stain on the rear left-hand corner of the rear panel. Green endpapers. In a good dust jacket with the price of $10.00 and several pieces of tape to the versa the bottom right hand corner of the rear panel to cover up some wrinkling and a closed tear. Soiled at the top edges with ears as well. Steinbeck wrote this story in present day vernacular for his young sons and for other sons not so young. He did not rewrite the original story. He wanted to write about Caxton, which was his first love, but decided to write Malory's King Arthur, a more exciting tale. First Edition with "First Printing, 1976".
