Overall, this book is in good minus condition. Part of the 7/6 series of A&C Black colour books. Inman 157.

It was sung to great acclaim by Mr Kennerley Rumford and was a popular addition to his repertoire. Kennerly Rumford enjoyed a successful career as a concert Baritone and was a vocal pupil of George Henschel and Alfred Blume of London. "Bertie", as he was called by his family, was married to Dramatic Contralto Clara Ellen Butt on June 26, 1900 in the Bristol Cathedral amid scenes of spectacular enthusiasm such as that usually reserved for Royalty or State occasions. Bertie died at Brooke Lodge, North Stoke, Oxfordshire. Ref SM2 Size: 9pp.

It starts with a chapter on Monastic Gardening, but within this chapter, also talks of gardening in years BC.

Interior pages show some light overall age toning and foxing, not effecting plates. Pages xi and xiii have a small 1/2" tear at the edge, page 251 wrinkled from incorrect fold and has a slight tear at the edge. Text block sound. A Very Good copy. The Derrydale Press was an American book publishing company founded in 1927 with headquarters on Park Ave. in Manhattan, New York. It was the creation of Princeton University graduate Eugene V.
