Nanna Lysholt Hansen è una performance artist, curatrice e insegnante di Copenhagen, Danimarca. Ha conseguito un master presso la Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Ha conseguito il BFA nel 2005 presso la Kingston University di Londra, Regno Unito. Nel 2010 ha studiato anche presso l'Accademia Centrale di Belle Arti di Pechino, in Cina. Nel 2006 Hansen ha fondato il NLHspace, un centro gestito da artisti a Copenhagen. La sua pratica artistica si occupa di corpo, memoria, storia, tecnologia di riproduzione e architettura.Ha esposto a livello internazionale al Fotografisk Center in Danimarca, al Saint-Valentin Espace d'Art in Cina, alla Bristol Biennial of Contemporary Art nel Regno Unito, alla GOLD & BETON in Germania e alla Pratt Manhattan Gallery negli Stati Uniti e alla Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center.La serie Dura Mater si basa su un vasto archivio di materiale fotografico proveniente dalla pratica di Lysholt Hansen nel campo della performance per la macchina fotografica, che comprende stampe di prova, fogli a contatto e stampe digitali o alla gelatina d'argento di studi performativi, schizzi, documentazioni e opere finite. La serie è iniziata spontaneamente nel 2016 come collaborazione tra Lysholt Hansen e sua figlia, che ha dipinto e disegnato sul materiale d'archivio. Nel corso del 2017 ha perso interesse e la serie si è conclusa nel 2018 con un'ultima immagine. In tutto sono 470 oggetti fotografici.Dura Mater presenta per la prima volta la serie nella sua interezza e la accompagna con testi di autori invitati che offrono possibili letture e nuove prospettive.
