Deutscher Grafiker, Bildhauer und Keramiker. Namhafter Vertreter des deutschen Expressionismus. Jugend in Norddeutschland, 1907 Abitur in Hannover. 1908/09 Studienaufenthalt in London. Ab 1909 Ausbildung an der Kunstschule von Wilhelm von Debschitz in München. Anschließend Studium an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München. Bis 1914 freischaffend als Bildhauer und Grafiker tätig. 1914-18 als Soldat im Ersten Weltkrieg. Seit 1923 eigenes Atelier im oberbayerischen Unterkatzbach bei Rott am Inn. 1937 von den Nationalsozialisten als entartet diffamiert. Ab 1945 Umbau des Ateliers zur Töpferei Werkstatt Hohlt, später von den Söhnen Albrecht und Görge weitergeführt. Nicht handsigniert. Links unten typografisch bezeichnet: OTTO HOHLT.
