"This long-awaited first monograph from Dan Winters, one of the world's most influential editorial photographers, provides an interpretive spin through the assignment work he's undertaken as a contributor to America's most prestigious magazines, including New York, Esquire, Rolling Stone, and the New York Times Magazine. With an emphasis on his iconic portraiture, this survey considers the unique sensibility of a photographer whose work is both endlessly adaptable, and instantly recognizable. Winters is responsible for the definitive portrait of even the most-photographed Hollywood A-listers (Gwyneth Paltrow, Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio); music superstars (Bono, Deborah Harry, Morrissey); and American political figures (Al Gore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barack Obama.) In this collection of award-winning photographs Winters also reveals his many exuberant passions--for both science and art, for motion pictures, for Americana, and for America. Designed by Scott Dadich, Award-winning creative director of Wired magazine, this book showcases a photographer at the top of his game." - from the front flap. Signed by Author(s). …
