The slightest bit of edgewear to the covers. Small prior owner name stamp to front pastedown. A light half-inch mark to blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, a very good to near fine copy - clean, bright and unmarked - in an only slight stained and edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~Y~ [2.0P] An annotated printing of a journal kept by Edith Parker (later Edith Parker Hinckley), documenting a two-week trip taken by Parker and her friend, Ethel Burt, in May 1899 following their graduation from Pasadena High School. Their journey followed the Santa Fe Kite-Shaped Track, a scenic rail route that linked major cities in Southern California. The journal provides a rare, firsthand account of California?s people and sights at the turn of the 20th century. The historical journal entries are annotated by Larry Burgess, Ph.D., providing additional scholarly context.
