Añadir al carritoThis monograph of the Fauna Ibérica series is the second part of a study devoted to aphids of the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha Aphididae). Ninety-four aphid species belonging to 3 of the total 15 subfamilies (Lachninae, Eriosomatinae and Pterocommatinae) found in the Ibero-balearic aphid-fauna are discussed here. The book is illustrated with 119 plates of original line drawings and 6 colour plates showing Eriosomatid galls. The monograph also provides keys to genera and species based on viviparous females and galls induced by aphids on their host plants (subfamily Eriosomatinae). In addition, it contains detailed descriptions of morphological and biological characters, and the distribution of each species. The bibliography of these groups has been updated, and two appendices have been included one containing aphid nomenclature and the other a list of aphid host plants on the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands. Madrid. Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. 352 pp., 6 color plates, 119 figs, hardback gr. 8 [17.2 x 24.7 cm] [in Spanish].…

Añadir al carritoThis volume is the third of the series Fauna Ibérica devoted to aphids (Hemiptera Sternorrhyncha Aphididae). The volume commences an analysis of the most extensive subfamily, Aphidinae, starting with the tribe Aphidini, which includes the genus Aphis that gives its name to the entire group. To better understand this complex genus, for the first time in this series, a CD-ROM has been prepared including photographs of specimens representative of the 115 species described so far in the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands, along with a list of the botanical families acting as hosts for all Aphis species. The volume includes the habitual identification keys and descriptions (including 59 original plates), as well as information on the biology and distribution of the taxa of the tribe dealt with: its subtribes Aphidina and Rhopalosiphina, its 17 genera and subgenera, and its 144 species. Besides the habitual appendices of nomenclature and host plants, the volume includes an appendix listing species of mutualist ants. Madrid. Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. 362 pp., 59 b/w line drawings, hardback gr. 8 [17.2 x 24.7 cm] [includes CD-ROM] [in Spanish].…
