Loosely inserted hand-written signed letter to Stennett from Michael Heybrook,nephew of Folke Heybroek. BOOK:Monograph on Folke Heybroek, including a biographical section with photographs of the artist. Richly illustrated with colour plates of the artist's work. /Folke Heybroek (1913Ð1983) was a Dutch expressionist artist, monumental sculptor, illustrator, textile designer and stained-glass designer who made a career based in Sweden. Both he and his wife, Brita Horn-Heybroek, were prominent members of the prestigious Eskilstuna Art Society. /Michael Allan March Stennett (1946-2020) was a British stage designer. Commissions for numerous productions included Australian Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, & The Royal Shakespeare Company. By 1994,Stennett retired from the theatre to concentrate on painting. His portraits include a number of studies of Dame Joan Sutherland and in 1993, H.M. the Queen commissioned a portrait drawing of Sutherland for the Order of Merit series at Windsor Castle. In 2004, Stennett was commissioned to do a portrait drawing of Canon John White, Precentor of St George's Chapel, Windsor. As an artist, he had his first solo show at Suffolk's Aldeburgh Theatre Gallery in 1999 with a second the following year, also showing at Adonis Art Gallery, London. His works are in the Royal Collection; the Victoria & Albert Theatre Museum; the New York Public Library and several performing arts museums around the world. He lived at Plantation Cottage, Yoxford, Suffolk, and died at his home on 23 June 2020. Very good indeed. …
