Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book reports on a collection of 800 bird specimens gathered between 1915 and 1923 in the northern half of Tanganyika Territory and other parts of East Africa. These specimens represent at least a pair of each form found in the region and include ten new species identified by the author. The majority of the collection is now housed in the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University. The author examines the distribution of teeming bird life of the region, extending the previously known ranges of 104 species and subspecies. Of particular interest are ten forms new to science, described elsewhere by the author. Observations, reflections, and opinions about a large number of species are given. This book is a valuable contribution to the study of ornithology in East Africa and provides researchers with a wealth of information on the distribution and identification of bird species in the region. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
