The author was a highly decorated enlisted soldier in the Korean War and as an officer, he had Ranger, special Forces, secret intelligence missions, and the 1965 Dominican Republic intervention under his belt. Then came his Vietnam duty in 1969 where after 58 days as the Inspector General of the 173rd Airborne Brigade he was relieved of command for demanding investigations for criminal malfeasance, dereliction of responsibility, and cover-ups by commanders. He reported what he saw, pressed for investigations, and tried to instigate reforms but instead was subjected to a campaign of humiliation and harassment forcing his retirement from the Army. A true story of the waste of resources and manpower that was typical of the leadership in the Vietnam War. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
