"On leaving the Commons, Mond shifted the balance of his interests away from politics and concentrated mainly on economics and industry. He believed that formal consultation, in a kind of third chamber, between some industrialists and financiers, some scientists and economists, and some ministers, could solve economic problems. He published two books on these issues: Why the Crisis? (1931) and Modern Money (1932)" (ODNB). Octavo. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, blindstamp rule border to covers.
