Dust jacket has slight creasing at top and a couple of score marks. Introduction by Paul Cox. 40 duotone reproductions of these early photographs, produced between the 1850's and 1880's. The Ambrotype process was a British invention and it revolutionized photography, as it produced high definition, allowed short exposures and rapid development.
