Añadir al carritoNo Binding. City and County of Los Angeles subpoena, served on December 6, 1862, to Frederick M. Frisbie. 8.35" x 12.25". Some chipping to margins. Single sheet, partially printed with manuscript filled in on the front by Judge Benjamin Ignatius Hayes, who was the first judge of the district court that served Los Angeles, San Diego and San Bernardino counties in California. The top edge of the reverse contains the manuscript addition of Tomás Ávila Sánchez, who had been elected Sheriff of Los Angeles County in 1860. Ávila Sánchez was from an influential Californio family; his grandfather, Vicente Sánchez, was Mayor of Mexican Los Angeles in the 1830s, and passed on the enormous estate of Rancho La Ciénega ó Paso de la Tijera to Ávila Sánchez in 1846. This addition contains Ávila Sánchez's certification of delivery of the subpoena, along with service and mileage costs, with his signature below. Signed by Author(s).
