Cette thèse bien documentée est divisée en 4 chapitres : Historique (pp. 9-20) ; Technique opératoire (pp. 21-30) ; Pansement (pp. 31-38) ; Observations (au nombre de 5). La bibliographie occupe les pages 53-59. Paul Alglave (1870-1959), l'instigateur de cette thèse, était chirurgien des hôpitaux et professeur agrégé à la Faculté de médecine de Paris. Il avait rapporté sa technique des greffes en "semis" ou en "godets" (pinch grafts) en 1907 dans les Bulletins et Mémoires de la Société anatomique, puis en 1917 dans La Presse Médicale (Patterson index of plastic surgery, p. 6). Isaac-Joseph Hassid, originaire de Salonique, précise que sa thèse a été inspirée par les travaux passionnants d'Alglave qu'il expose ici de façon détaillée et dont il loue les avantages par rapport aux autres greffes dermo-épidermiques. Il insiste en particulier sur la disparition des échecs liées au pansement.
