Presentation copy, inscribed at the top of the front wrapper to "Mr. Jas. H. Waters with the respects of J. M. H." There is a slip tipped to the front free endpaper that reads, "We have adopted the spelling of Sir Walter's name, as given by Oldys and Cayley. This is the spelling in the Indictment for High Treason as well as in the Royal Commission for the voyage to Guinea.
