Corners lightly rubbed. Top edges gilt. A few small stains on covers. Front endpaper has a research foundation stamp dated 1954, and over-stamped "cancelled". Rear free endpaper has stamped owner's name and date of 1971. Binding cracked near front, in center, and at rear. Webbing visible in front crack. Brown & white frontispiece has tissue guard with red descriptive lettering. Five other plates, and seven text maps. Interior pages are clean and unmarked. Binding still firm, despite cracks. 534 pages. No dust jacket.
