The cover has a interior tear running along the front gutter which while not entirely loose is at risk of becoming so without gentle care there is evidence of attempts at repair, there is also a stamp bearing the name of a previous owner on the black page opposite the paste-down. The inside text and plates appear clean and clear of stains or writing. 'A most valuable and important book for the sporting life of the period, aptly described by Newton as 'a biography of a man that reads like a work of fiction' xiv+206 pages. 6.95 x 4.25 inches.
