Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the significance of the reforms spearheaded by Baron vom Stein in early 19th-century Prussia. Stein's vision was to modernize the Prussian state and society, and his reforms were a watershed moment in German history. The author delves into the context of Germany in the 18th century, which was characterized by feudalism, serfdom, and a rigid class system. The book sheds light on Stein's ideas and motivations, his belief in a free peasant class, and his efforts to dismantle the oppressive structures that held the Prussian people back. One of the central themes of the book is the impact of Stein's land reforms, which aimed to create a class of free peasant proprietors. The author analyzes the challenges and successes of implementing these reforms, exploring their long-term consequences for Prussian society. The book concludes by assessing Stein's legacy, emphasizing the importance of his reforms and their influence on the development of Germany as a modern nation-state. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Cloth. Condición: Very Good. First edition. A very scarce commentary on the reforms introduced by Baron Von Stein in eighteenth-century Prussia, the first edition, compiled by Col. H. A. Ouvry. First edition. Bound in the publisher's red cloth. Very scarce work. Written by Col. H. A. Ouvry. A valuable commentary regarding the reforms introduced by Baron von Stein, a Prussian statesman known for his drastic action taken in the nearly-bankrupt Prussian state of the early nineteenth century. Notably, von Stein promoted the abolition of serfdom, placed restrictions on the nobility and established a modern municipal system. Ouvry presents his view on the situation, suggesting that Stein introduced these reforms for his own gain, and to encourage the re-establishment of German independence. With an appendix containing the views of Richard Cobden on the matter, as well as J. S. Mill's advice to land reformers. Bound in the publisher's red cloth. Externally, very good, with light bumping to the extremities, a little darkening to the cloth and a few marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few spots to the first few pages. Very Good. None (ilustrador). book.…
