Comic Book. Condición: Very Good. Illustrated by Carl Lundgren, Renaud Facade, Gary Grimshaw, Et Al Ilustrador. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. B&W Illustrations; This is a trade sized comic book. The book is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book covers have some light bumping, rubbing and wear, along with one small tear to the bottom spine end. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, with just a hint of beginning generalized toning. "In 1967 Lundgren met rock poster artist Gary Grimshaw, who was illustrating posters for a Detroit rock venue, run by Russ Gibb, called the Grande Ballroom. Grimshaw offered him a job, and Lundgren went on to create poster art for seminal bands such as The Who, Jefferson Airplane and Pink Floyd. In 1974 Lundgren moved to New York City and turned to science fiction and fantasy illustration for a living, painting nearly 300 book covers. During this time, Lundgren became a co-founder of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA) and was nominated for a Hugo Award for his illustration work. "(from Wikipedia).

Cover cartoon by Lundgren and Grimshaw of a campus confrontation with cops ("Disorientation Week"), straight-arrow Archie is intimidated. Banner line reads "Back to Chicago." Content starts with a letter from Jerry Rubin in Santa Rita, CA jail (45-day term for 1966 riot); three stories by the Tribe's Steve Haines in Chicago to cover the Chicago 8 trial and upcoming SDS Days of Rage; bits of secret US Army history; SDS picket in Pittsburgh; center spread is a melange of photos of Telegraph Avenue characters and Native American botanical savvy. Also find a review of Angelo d'Archangelo's "Homosexual Handbook".

Soft cover. Condición: Good. 1st edition. Good only (lacking front wrapper). 4to, [xvi]+148pp (mimeographed), stapled wrappers. Edited by John Sinclair. A massive Artists Workshop Press production. Includes Michael McClure, Gerrit Lansing, Diane di Prima, and a whole bunch of other folks. Solid (about VG) aside from the missing cover (which is supplied in photocopy). Not Signed.

Grimshaw is best-known for his iconic rock concert posters, but this is one of a number of designs he created for the non-profit cannabis cooperative Amorphia following his move to San Francisco from Detroit around 1970. Uncommon; not seen at auction, and not separately catalogued in OCLC, though we note copies at National Institutes of Health and University of Wisconsin.
