Gently read. . . . . . . Christopher Murray Grieve (11 August 1892 - 9 September 1978), best known by his pen name Hugh MacDiarmid (/mÉkËdÉËrmɪd/), was a Scottish poet, journalist, essayist and political figure. He is considered one of the principal forces behind the Scottish Renaissance and has had a lasting impact on Scottish culture and politics. He was a founding member of the National Party of Scotland in 1928 but left in 1933 due to his Marxistâ"Leninist views. He joined the Communist Party the following year only to be expelled in 1938 for his nationalist sympathies. He would subsequently stand as a parliamentary candidate for both the Scottish National Party (1945) and British Communist Party (1964) -- Wikipedia.

Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. These 2 issues are in their original soft card covers, each have approx 50+ pages with poetry, literary articles and illustrations. Most of the contributors went on the write and were published poets etc, There is an early poem and possibly 1st published work by Zulfikar Ghose and an article on Arnold Bennet and his "Fabled" 5 Towns by the writer Frederick Harper + The Algerian Crisis by Jean Blondel + John Idris Jones, the Welsh writer has a couple of poems. A tribute to the level of the student at the time as more illustrious university magazines have fewer students who manage to get into adult print. Both about VG, with no loose pages and no splits to covers.
