Product Description:Mitch Helwig is a good cop in a future Toronto that is spiraling toward anarchy. Drugs rule the streets, and criminals have the police outgunned. So when Mitch is fired from the force by a corrupt superior, he cashes in his savings, buys some high-tech weapons and equipment, and begins a half-mad crusade to clean up Toronto single-handedly. But Mitch is human: when his wife leaves him and takes his daughter, his despair gives his enemies an opportunity to exact their own revenge.

Añadir al carritoTaschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - This book is about some of the crossroads we face in life. Do we go it alone, or do we do what society expects of us Being young isn't always easy especially if you value your individuality. Charlie the main character has to face many issues that we all maybe familiar with. He will give you an insight into how it feels to face continual miseducation. This book will give you an insight into the psyche of a modern day urban African Caribbean man. He has many dreams and aspirations but is facing challenges when making the best decision for his future. This book is a work of fiction however the experiences that Charlie has to face living in 'Whattingham' happens everyday in modern societies. A lot of us think we are right all of the time I believe a lot of people could relate to this book it has cold, harsh as well as warm reflections of life. Sometimes there aren't any concepts just abstract decisions and events around us. When we thought things were definite and nothing would change guess what they did. This book hasn't been written for an academic study or to cause damnation on others, it's about trying to add a modern educated viewpoint on issues as old as mankind racism, families, peer pressure, and dreams the desire to fulfill your personal dreams. This book is written in the UK but believe me it isn't just for the UK!!!

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. xxi, [3], 245, [3] pages. Illustrations (some in color). DJ has some wear and soiling. Includes Foreword, Preface, Acknowledgments, and The Birth of Teem Spirit. Part 1 discusses Spacelab; The European Space Laboratory; Part 2 discusses Spacelab: A Cosmic Laboratory for Hire; Part 3 discusses From Spacelab to Space Stations; Part 4 discusses Columbus: The European Space Station Element; Part 5 discusses The Logistic Module; Part 6 discusses Future Horizons, and the All-European Space Station Project. The book also includes a Table of Missions. Italian participation in space programs has been guided by a strategy that, "thanks to the enlightened vision of a few people," enabled Italy to acquire a privileged position in the exploration and exploitation of this "new frontier" of mankind. Ernesto Vallerani (Milan, 30 July 1936) is an Italian engineer, one of the main inspirers of Italian space activity. He graduated in aeronautical engineering from the Milan Polytechnic in 1961 and obtained a second degree from the California Institute of Technology in 1963, specializing in supersonic aerodynamics. Working at Aeritalia, he held various roles until he became director of the Space Division in 1980, which in the following years led to unprecedented growth. Among the main projects in which he took part, the Spacelab missions and the Columbus module of the International Space Station (ISS). He has published the volume "Italy and space. In 1990 he received the von Braun Prize for his contribution to the European development of human space flight. This book is the exciting story of Italian participation in Spacelab, Columbus program, the International Space Station, and other space related activities. First Edition [stated], presumed first printing.

Añadir al carrito1st Edition. FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL WRAPPERS OF THE CELEBRATED GREEN-TAO THEOREM. The theorem states that the prime numbers contain arbitrary long arithmetic progressions. For example, 5, 11, 17, 23, 29 is a sequence of five primes equally spaced, and so in arithmetic progression, the Green-Tao theorem says that you can find sequences of equally spaced primes which are as long as you like, though the spacing between them might be bigger" (IAS, Green-Tao Theorem). A long-held and almost folkloric conjecture was that primes contain arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions. The problem can be traced back to investigations of Lagrange and Waring from around 1770. Green and Tao prove "there are arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions of primes. There are three major ingredients. The first is Szemeredi's theorem, which asserts that any subset of the integers of positive density contains progressions of arbitrary length. The second, which is the main new ingredient of this paper, is a certain transference principle. This allows us to deduce from Szemeredi's theorem that any subset of a sufficiently pseudorandom set (or measure) of positive relative density contains progressions of arbitrary length. The third ingredient is a recent result of Goldston and Y ld r m, which we reproduce here. Using this, one may place (a large fraction of) the primes inside a pseudorandom set of "almost primes" (or more precisely, a pseudorandom measure concentrated on almost primes) with positive relative density" (Abstract, Green and Tao, The Primes Contain, Ann Math, p. 481, 2008).
