Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents an introspective account of human experience of war, love, and the tragedy of apathy through a series of carefully crafted poems. The author explores the nature of these subjects through the lens of love, betrayal, personal loss, and the historical context of the time. Influenced by the various literary periods that came before, including the Romantic era and Victorian poets, the author examines the full spectrum of human emotion and the universal themes of desire, loss, suffering, and injustice. The poems in this collection traverse the depths of despair and triumph, while reminding us of the strength of the human spirit. Ultimately, this book offers a profound meditation on the human condition, inviting readers to reflect on the complexities of existence, the significance of action and inaction, and the enduring power of hope. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Añadir al carritoTwo works bound in one. 8vo. Buff paper wrappers with manuscript title label to upper cover. The original green printed wrappers of Twenty-One Sonnets is bound in. Also bound in is a series of correspondence about the publication of the book, including copies of two letters from Stanley Scott to Allen and Unwin, and the two replies received from Philip Unwin. Stanley Scott has also bound in his MS copy of a letter from Eric Gill to Romney Green that mentions the book. Loosely laid in is an ALS from Romney Green to some friends, dated "Xmas 1913", 4pp. A very good copy, a tear to the bound-in upper cover. An uncommon work. Romney Green was primarily a fine-arts cabinet maker responsible for, among other works, the shelves, tables and benches of Harold Monro's Poetry Bookshop. He was also a "lifelong scribbler and poet, much influenced by Morris" and undoubtedly encouraged in his poetic writings by his proximity to Monro.
